We are looking for a motivated PhD student (m/f/d) to explore the effects of stress on hippocampal microcircuits and contribute to cutting-edge research in neuroscience.Your ResponsibilitiesJoin our project on the impact of stress on hippocampal microcircuits within the German Center for Mental Health (DZPG)! Here you will investigate local circuits relevant for emotional memory, fear and anxiety using differnt stress protocols in combination with expression analysis and interventions in vivo and in vitro (pharmacoloy, chemogenetic viral vectors and viral knock down strategies)Your ProfileIf you are curious about neuroscience and in exploring stress, fear memory and anxiety, then join our team! Requirements are a completed university degree (master or diploma) in neuroscience, biology or similar and ideally experience in animal experiments (FELASA B certificate holder or equivalent). Experience with behavioral testing and stereotactic surgeries in mice and/ or expression analysis on the mRNA or protein level (e.g. qPCR, RNAScope, Western Blot, immunohistochemistry) is an advantage.
