Senior Bioreactor Fermentation Scientist F/M/D (Biologe/Biologin)

During your work as a Senior Bioreactor Fermentation Scientist at aquila biolabs, you will i.a.

- plan, perform and evaluate microbial fermentation experiments in various bioreactor systems and scales,
- apply fermentation processes for the development, testing and validation of novel bioprocess sensors and analytics technologies,
- analyze, interpret and document experimental data and contribute your bioprocess expertise to interdisciplinary development projects involving sensors, hardware, software and data analytics.

Your skills should include:

- profound practical experience in microbial fermentation, bioprocessing, as well as up- and down-scaling
- hands-on experience with laboratory and pilot bioreactors, bioprocess analytics and sensing technologies and the design and evaluation of fermentation experiments,
- deep understanding of bioprocess models, biomass growth, substrate consumption, oxygen transfer, feeding strategies and process control,
- analytical and solution-oriented thinking and mindset,
- ability to independently plan, execute and troubleshoot experimental work,
- strong interest in interdisciplinary development at the interface of biotechnology, sensor technology and data analytics.

You should hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, biochemical engineering, microbiology or a related field and have relevant practical experience in fermentation and bioreactor processes. Professional experience in an industrial biotechnology or bioprocess development environment is strongly preferred.
