The position is offered for a period of 3 years, if no former times of qualification must be considered. The starting date is as soon as possible. The position is part-time (65% of regular working hours) with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 65 %).
Scientific services in research (focus on pancreatic cancer (PDAC))
Biochemical and cell-biological investigation of the oncogenic DYRK1B kinase
Evaluation of molecular mechanisms of intrinsic and extrinsic cell communication in PDAC
Characterization of phase-separated RNA-Protein condensates
Analysis of stress adaptation pathways in cancer cells with the goal of therapeutic applicability
The position is limited to a time period deemed adequate for the completion of a doctoral degree. As part of the assigned duties, there will be ample opportunity to conduct the independent scientific research necessary for the completion of a doctorate. The limitation complies to Section 2(1) of the German Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG).
MSc-degree or equivalent, preferably in an oncological field
Previous experimental experience in molecular oncological research, cell culture, or microscopy
Track record in the fields of protein kinases or RNA biochemistry is an advantage
Pronounced interest in biochemistry
Motivation for molecular analyses of cancer-related processes
Good written and spoken English skills
Disposition to own scientific qualification (e.g. a doctorate project in the area pancreatic cancer) is expected.
