This role is responsible for leading the global strategy, governance, and execution of Material Lifecycle Management for mechanical and mechatronic components across the entire supply chain. The individual ensures suppliers, manufacturing processes, quality standards, and material strategies are optimized for cost, quality, productivity, resilience, and sustainability while driving cross-functional collaboration between Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Quality teams worldwide.

In short, this is a senior global leadership position focused on improving supplier performance, product quality, operational efficiency, and supply chain effectiveness throughout the lifecycle of mechanical and mechatronic materials and components.

**How you will make an Impact with us**

- You will be responsible for the global strategic direction of Material Lifecycle Management for mechanical and mechatronic components, including drawing-controlled parts, assemblies, manufacturing scopes, and supply chain investments.

- You will lead a team (either directly or through collaboration models) and provide functional governance for local Material Lifecycle Management teams focused on mechatronics. You will ensure clear roles, standards, decision-making processes, and effective cross-site collaboration.

- You will develop and implement a global strategy for mechatronic parts, processes, and suppliers, focusing on standardization, technical feasibility, quality capability, supply chain resilience, sustainability, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and productivity.

- You will define supplier quality-related processes, methods, and standards for mechanical components and drive their global deployment, application, and continuous optimization across an international network.

- You will oversee preventive quality planning and industrialization readiness, particularly risk assessments, Process FMEA, Control Plans, Production Control Plans, First Article Inspection/PPAP, process audits, and release procedures for drawing-controlled purchased parts.

- You will establish a robust supplier problem management system with clear 8D governance, root cause analysis, effectiveness verification, lessons learned, claims management, and escalation procedures to sustainably reduce quality costs and recurring defects.

- You will further develop global and regional suppliers in collaboration with Procurement, R&D, Manufacturing, Logistics, and other partners, focusing on process capability, performance, technological expertise, capacity, risk mitigation, and ESG requirements.

- You will drive transparency, digitalization, and data-based management through supplier quality KPIs, audit and action management, quality cost tracking, risk dashboards, and standardized management reporting.

- You will identify productivity opportunities throughout the material lifecycle, including standardization, product variant reduction, make-or-buy optimization, value stream and supply chain analysis, cost and process improvements, and robust relocation and localization strategies.

- You will represent Mechatronics Material Lifecycle Management in global decision-making committees and ensure strategic contributions are integrated early into development, sourcing, investment, and production decisions.

**Leadership & Governance**

- You bring extensive long-term leadership experience in global, multicultural organizations, including both direct people leadership and cross-functional management across sites, functions, and hierarchical levels. You are capable of developing teams, clarifying responsibilities, setting priorities, and driving organizational change effectively.

**Mechanical & Mechatronic Components**

- You possess a strong understanding of mechanical and mechatronic materials, especially drawing-controlled parts, manufacturing processes, tolerances, inspection concepts, process capability, industrialization, engineering changes, capital investments, and global supply chain risks.

**Strategy, Digitalization & Productivity**

- You have experience in strategy development, process standardization, digital reporting, data-driven decision-making, productivity programs, and leading complex transformation or optimization initiatives within international manufacturing and supplier networks.

**Methodological Expertise**

- Knowledge of quality and continuous improvement tools is advantageous, including:

**Communication & Collaboration**

- You are recognized for clear communication, diplomacy, negotiation skills, and the ability to align Procurement, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Suppliers toward common goals. Fluency in both German and English, along with willingness to travel globally to company sites and suppliers, completes your profile.
