Your Tasks
The Directorate of Predevelopment, Proposals and Space System Studies is a strategic cornerstone of the company’s project pipeline. It drives the early shaping of future space missions by translating customer requirements into technically sound and competitive concepts. Within this directorate, the Department of Science, Exploration and Space Safety Missions focuses on the conceptualisation and maturation of missions related to astrophysics, planetary science, robotic solar system exploration, space safety, planetary defence, space weather, in-orbit servicing, in-space logistics and debris mitigation. By bridging scientific ambition with engineering feasibility, the department plays a key role in securing the OHB’s leadership in future international space programs.
As an experienced and committed Project Manager (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the successful implementation of exciting and complex proposals and projects in the domains of science and space safety in Phases 0/A and B1. You will lead interdisciplinary project teams, ensuring efficient collaboration and optimal performance. You will play a key role in the planning, coordination and management of projects to ensure that they are completed on time, cost-effectively and to the highest quality.
Your Tasks
- Responsible for the project management for proposals and projects in Phases 0/A/B1. Be accountable for the cost, schedule and performance of studies or projects.
- Support the preparation and implementation of mission and system proposals.
- Analysis, definition and agreement of the requirements with the project team and the customer(s). Lead negotiation with customers, potential partners and suppliers.
- Strengthen our relationships with clients, and act as a liaison with key stakeholders in client organisations.
Your Qualifications
- Successful completion of studies in aerospace, engineering, or a related field, demonstrating your expertise in the subject matter.
- Significant projessional experince as project manager for Phase 0/A/B1 projects, preferrably in the domains science, exploration and/or space safety. Significant experience in dealing with ESA as a customer.
- Knowledge of space projects, including systems and operations.
- Proven expertise in crafting compelling proposals
- Passion and knowledge in the space field are not just desirable but form the foundation of our collective success.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong result orientation, operational efficiency and ability to reach pragmatic and timely decisions.
- Proficiency in English. Fluency in German is an advantage.
